Sonia Nicolson-Gudrúnarson is an Architect, Illustrator and Content Creator from Edinburgh, Scotland. In 2009, a global recession and a desire for a new challenge led Sonia to India where she helped set up and run a number of campuses for the Education Corporation; Raffles Design Institute. Head of BA Interior Architecture, Sonia was quickly promoted to Academic Director and wrote her first research paper (published by IIT Delhi). With strong connections in India, Sonia was welcomed into the Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) as Head of 1st year BA Interior Architecture, visiting India with the universities recruitment team and the British Council.

Sonia has worked within Architecture and Higher Education in the UK, Japan, India and currently Iceland. With a desire to share this experience, she wanted to create a place that inspired and supported young designers in their studies and career path. Taking her industry knowledge and educational background, she created a site dedicated to those Designers - encouraging, supporting, inspiring - and layoutlines was born.
