What is an online tutorial

Much like mentoring, an online (or in-person) tutorial is an opportunity for you to discuss a project with someone who has experience in the design industry. This is your chance to reach out and get the help or advice you need. Students typically discuss Final Major Studio Projects, roadblocks they are experiencing in their studies, or hurdles they keep coming up against.

It’s designed to help you get unstuck.

Your Tutor/Mentor

Over the past 15 years, I have worked as a British chartered Architect, Academic Director at a leading Singaporean Design School in India, Senior Lecturer at a top UK Arts University, Academic Representative with the British Council, and External Examiner at several Design Schools.

I have mentored hundreds of students and graduates both in-person and online. We have discussed design projects, dissertations, how to land a work placement, Resume/CV and portfolios, building a personal brand, and taking on paid work.

How It Works

We will contact you to schedule a convenient time - usually within the next 1-2 working days

In our meeting, we identify the main issue(s), gain clarity, and set priorities. Working together, we brainstorm solutions and design a realistic timeline for you to work to. Then, we map out the steps needed to meet the required developments, directions, and deadlines. All questions are answered to the best of my ability and time. You will leave knowing your next steps, with a clear direction.

Typically lasts 30-40 minutes

Please feel free to record the tutorial and make notes as we go, I will send you any notes I have made along with any relevant digital material from our call.

Please note: Mentoring works best when you approach it with an open mind and are fully prepared. If this means having work (sketchbooks, designs, models, etc) on hand, please do so. We advise you to plan out what you would like to ask ahead of time - have 3 main points and 1 top priority - to get the most out of your session.
