Way up on Sólheimajökull Glacier, the arctic winds blow small pieces of ash grit from Eyjafjallajökull on to the icy surface. Slowly they burrow, blown gently by the wind, down through the layers of ice to form growing crevasse and leaving clear pools of melter ice behind.
