The Indian Rickshaw

This is the Indian Auto Rickshaw, I say auto because there are many varieties around. Let’s see, there are motorised rickshaws (auto), rickshaw vans, cycle rickshaws, hand pulled and probably even Bull pulled rickshaws too somewhere! They are a great way of getting around and are just another part of ‘normal’ life here, maybe that’s why I have not writing about them yet.

So, autos are a brilliant way of flying around the city, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. Usually driven by middle to older aged men, never woman, who occasionally try to strike up a conversation with you for example “madam, are you from you follow cricket?” Charged on the meter, if you are lucky, they are convenient as you will find them on pretty much every corner and drop you from door to door. Buzzing through the city like metal, slightly noisier Buzzing Bees, they are one of my much loved things in Incredible India.
