THAILAND: The Academic Work Trip

Last week I got back from a week in Bangkok promoting design education for the University where I work. It was a week filled with talks, workshops, portfolio reviews, meetings, interviews and making new contacts. I met some fantastic students and teachers at some of the best schools in the city and was very impressed with the level of work.

Similar to my recent trip to India, this trip was a jam packed week where I spoke with young designers about coming to the UK to further their education and skills. I went to threes schools and held drawing workshops and portfolio advice sessions which were really great fun. The students were all very focussed and really talented, their fine art work was amazing and they were already using 3D printers and laser cutters - and can I just say how cool is this class room? - look at the beautiful greenery, it's enough to inspire anyone!!
