Project Brief: Handmade Sketchbook

PROJECT BRIEF: HANDMADE SKETCHBOOK

LOOKING TO BOOST YOUR PORTFOLIO CONTENTS? Using found objects and materials you are going to create a handmade sketchbook which reflects you and/or your subject. For examples: Using cardboard from packaging or boxes, you can make the outer cover of your sketchbook and the inner pages can be old newspaper, wrapping paper, paper bags, etc (the more variety, the better). You will bind the book together using some thread or wool, wire or cord.

For someone interested in Interiors or Architecture, they might make their sketchbook look like a building. For examples; the book is in the shape of a house, the front cover has a front door and window cut into it. As you flick through the pages you see other doors and windows, etc. The same could be creates for letters or figures like models, etc. Here are some handmade sketchbooks made using cardboard from old boxes.
