Southampton (Etsy) Craft Party #SCP

Thursday was the etsy community craft party where crafters all over the world met up in different locations for an etsy craft party.  I was lucky enough to be invited to the Southampton meet up and spent the afternoon crafting and chatting, over cake...pretty much heaven in my opinion!! Organised and run by two fantastic girls, Rachel from OhNoRachio! and Harriet from harrietgray - who are fantastic makers so check out their stuff!  It was a fun day and a great opportunity to meet some likeminded people, seen as I'm still pretty new to this part of the world!

The party was held at Rachel's beautiful flat, (thank you for opening your door to so many of us).  It was decorated elegantly with gentle pink, peach and gold sprays of bunting and paper wheels, craft supplies were set out on tables dotted in between scrumptious looking cakes, gift bags filled with exciting little presents sat tempting us under a table filled with generous donations from etsy shop owners, crafters, designers and artists, all to be raffled off to some lucky people.

To help us get into the mood, Rachel and Harriet had prepared a little task for us.  We were to design and decorate a pennant flag - this is my 'work in progress' for LAYOUTLINES and bearing in mind I have not done any embroidery for a long time, I don't think its too bad. We each got a party bag to take home and enjoy, here are some of the exciting things I found in mine.  There was a huge amount and we were completely spoilt, as you can imagine it was like Christmas morning!!

Donations included: a very cool bags by Alphabet Bags, some yummy apple juice from Cawston Press, pretty rings from Claireabelle Makes, lovely illustrations by Charlotte Vallance, a stunning rose crown by Crown & Glory, beautiful watch by Daniel Wellington, work by Ron at Dresses on a clothesline, some lovely vouchers from Graze, one of our wonderful hostesses Harriet Grey, work by In twos & threes, yummy stuff from Just Bake, supplies from Lactose Free, accessories from Ladybird Likes, prizes from the wonderful (I won these) Laura Manfre, excitement from Lionheart Mag, goodies from Lush, a fantastic hood from Merri Making, illustrated charm from Nicola Rowlands, a super super exciting cushion by Nikki McWilliams, more amazing stuff from our hostess Rachael at Oh No Rachio, quirky illustrations from ohh deer, beautiful earrings from One Ten Seven Zero, an amazingly pretty gold necklace from Paper and Chain, cute broaches from Samantha at Polkadot Dreams, vouchers from printed.com, little gems from Anna at That Northern Lass, pinterest ready party decor from The Sweet hostess, and finally, illustrated goodies from Stay Home Club...I told you there was a lot!

So the pile of treats are the contents of my goodie bag!! And...I won some beautifully illustrated cards and stickers by Laura Manfre in the raffle, lucky number 20!!

Meeting people, chatting, crafting and eating...what more can you ask for of a Thursday!? Here's a list of (almost all, cos I'm not there) the participants from the party - it was great to meet you all and I hope we can meet up again very soon :)

A massive thanks to Rachel and Harriet for the creative motivation which has now inspired me to set up my own wee esty stop.  You guys are fantastic, it was a pleasure meeting you and I hope to see you, and all the other girls, very soon!!
