In the run up to my wedding, as many brides do, I paid a lot more attention to my skin care routine as well as upping the amount of (sometimes infused) water I was drinking. A few months prior to the big day I flew back to Scotland for a dress fitting, and my bridal hair and make up trial. I had contacted some local independent hair and make up artists and booked them for the wedding. At the trails they gave me some great tips, exchanged their wedding stories and offered some product recommendations - some of which have lasted beyond the wedding so today I am sharing my favourites with you.

Morning Of The Wedding
On the morning of the wedding I felt calm and ready for the day, I was excited but I knew we were ready for this. After a good breakfast with my bridesmaids and sister-in-law, we headed back upstair to my room. The hair and make up artists had arrived and were setting up, the dresses were hanging and shoes sat out ready. It was all starting to feel very real. Kirstie sat me down, with a glass of bubbly, to do my hair first and then Danni did my make up. She started by spraying Neal's Yard Frankincense Hydrating Facial Mist gently on my face and let my skin absorb it, this helped keep my skin moisturised, dewy and made the make up last longer. Then came the real pampering and I loved every minute.
I'm quite proud to say that after all the celebrating, partying, ceilidh'n and all, I did take off my make up, cleansed and moisturised my skin before collapsing into bed, with my husband, in a room beautifully decorated by my wonderful bridesmaids and their partners.
